A main road through Sussex has reopened earlier after a suspected unexploded bomb was found. Sussex Police said the A27 was closed in both directions near The Drusillas roundabout at Polegate “after potential unexploded ordnance was found in an area of water nearby”. In a statement, the force said: “A cordon has been put in place as a precaution and we are awaiting the arrival of the explosive ordnance disposal team.”
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
