Southend Police Station on Victoria Avenue was temporarily closed to the public while bomb specialists investigated the devices. The Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit “disposed of both objects”, the force said. Police have yet to provide details as to what the suspicious devices were. The police station has reopened.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
