The Jersey City Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit was quickly dispatched Wednesday morning to a Belmont Avenue home when a resident cleaning his garage discovered what appeared to be a live grenade. The authentic device, which was missing its fuze (the top that includes the pin), was carefully cleared from the scene, Belmont Avenue near Summit Avenue, without incident, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
