Scores of unexploded Second World War bombs and mines off the Norfolk coast could have to be blown up to pave the way for a huge wind farm. Danish energy firm Ørsted wants to build its £8bn Hornsea 3 project in the North Sea, some 75 miles from Cromer – but needs to make sure there is no unexploded ordnance which would endanger the construction workers. The company has applied to the government’s Marine Management Organisation for a marine licence.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
