Bedfordshire Police have evacuated a number of buildings on Riverside Square, Bedford and cordoned off the area after what’s thought to be an old unexploded hand grenade was discovered in the river. The device was reported at around 1.30pm and the Expolsive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has been called and a controlled explosion may be carried out.
