A suspected unexploded ordnance was found at at North Devon beauty spot. Police have sealed off Burrows Lane in Appledore this afternoon. It’s a road that runs through Northam Burrows Country Park. Officers and the coastguard are currently at the scene. Insp.Dave Thubron tweeted: “Be aware we will be placing a cordon to assist the @HMCoastguard at Burrow(s) Lane – Appledore. An ongoing situation that is being resolved to remove some unexploded ordinance (ordnance).”
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
