An unexploded Second World War device was found in Essex on Friday (May 19). Essex Police said it was discovered in Grays. Police were called to Lodge Lane at around 4.25pm. At this stage it is not known exactly where the unexploded ordnance was found or by who but police confirmed it is believed to be a wartime shell. Bomb disposal experts were called in and the device taken to a location nearby for disposal. People in the area were warned there could be a ‘loud bang’ as it was detonated.
