Two vintage bombs, a grenade, a magazine, several bullets, and bottles were dug out of a farm in Asingan town, Pangasinan province on Sunday, January 8. A farm worker of Asingan Councilor Johnny Mar Agunias-Carig discovered the war materiel on the official’s property in Barangay Baro. The worker was reportedly digging the ground when he hit a metal object, unearthing a grenade first. Carig immediately informed the Asingan police station about the discovery, and the lawmen sought help from the Explosive and Ordnance Division in Tayug town to recover the war materiel. Authorities believed the vintage bombs and other weapons were used during World War II. Vintage bombs and other explosives were also discovered by a farmer while plowing his rice land in Barangay Baro in September 2019. INQ
