With the financial assistance of the Indian government through the Indian embassy in Phnom Penh, four villages in Koh Kong province’s Botum Sakor district will be declared mine-free in January of 2023, said Ly Thuch, first vice-president of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA). Besides Botum Sakor district, India’s assistance would help other districts in the province, with plans to declare the entire province mine-free by the end of 2023.
