Residents around Daventry were shaken last night after an unexploded bomb from the Second World War was detonated just after 9pm last night in a nearby village. The explosion was heard as far as Braunston and central Daventry. The unexploded bomb was found by a member of the public in Welton just after 2pm on Wednesday, August 31. The spotter is believed to have noticed the 80-year-old incendiary device during construction work on Churchill Road.
