On Tuesday afternoon, police received a report of a “historical unexploded ordnance” within a property on Edinburgh Road in the village of West Barns. Emergency services and the EOD attended the incident, upon which a cordon was put in place and a number of houses evacuated. The road was reopened again after the item was removed, just over three hours after the police received the report.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
