The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has confirmed that an explosive device found in Studland was an unexploded four-inch shell. Police cordoned off a section of land near Ferry Road this morning (Tuesday, February 22) and warned the public to avoid the area after the device was found. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was then sent to the scene to safely dispose of the weapon.
