“If you ever come across anything suspicious like this item, please do not pick it up, contact your local law enforcement agency for assistance”

Heeze-Leende municipality, Reusel locality. A child equipped with a rope and a magnet “catches” from a canal somw unexploded grenades (all of the HE type). Of course, the little hobbyist does not recognize the devices, he thinks that they are “curious” objects to keep. In fact, he detaches the devices from the magnet (an operation that must never be performed!) and then he transports them home. The parents see the ammunition and report everything to the police. Agents and bomb squads arrive on the spot. They carefully remove the devices. In many municipalities this hobby is prohibited, the remaining municipalities in the Netherlands should also prohibit it. I wonder why close your eyes to the danger that remnants of war and magnets infuse on hobbyists, passers-by, residents and law enforcement agencies? Tiziana Piscitelli
