The man, who lives on Washington Boulevard, was digging in the yard when he unearthed a 75mm military projectile around 11:30 a.m and flagged down an officer, according to a release from the Lower Township Police Department. This marked the second time in the last seven days that an unexploded ordinance was found in Cape May County. Two unexploded World War II-era ordnances found in a backyard of a Cape May property on Wednesday, March 10, were safely detonated at a nearby beach, officials said.
