Police cordoned off the junction of Western Road and Beacon Road, after being alerted to the device just after 1.20pm on Wednesday (June 17). Residents were ordered to remain indoors. After an investigation, the ‘bomb’ was in fact deemed a concrete post and the scene reopened.
