During domination of IS to al-Shahba areas caused much destructions and leaving more mines left behind it years ago, As Afrin canton ‘s people were forced to displace from their territory headed towards to villages and camps in al-Shahab, where the people had been exposed to the mines because they lived in semi-destructive houses.,Where so far many people have been injured by the explosion of mine most of them children and women. The Young man Hûrîk Mohammed who is at 16 years , who is currently living in Sardam refugee camp, was wounded in the middle of last month In his right foot due to explosion of the mine. while he was returning from Tel-Sosin village . Hûrîk Mohammed says while he was palying football with his friends in Tel –Sosin village , on the way back , he crossed a dirt road to reach the camp , on his way, landmine planted among agricultural land was blasted ,and he was speedily taken to Avrin hospital as explosion caused to amputation his leg Hûrîk Mohammed,who is currently receiving treatment at Avrin Hospital, needs an artificial foot to be able to walk again, andhe has appealed to concerned authorities to help him secure the cost of the industrial foot. Sabri Mustafa, whose children were injured by a cluster bomb in ,while they were palying at yard home in their home in Tel-Rifat district, we left Afrin to protect our children from death at mercenaries’ hands and their supporters, and we had settled in al-Shahba areas which has been liberated since years , but the houses are still containing remnants of IS . Those who were also injured by the explosion of mines in al-Shahba areas Mohammed Mustafa child while he was playing next to his house in Tel-Rifat district about two months ago. Rashid Mustafa, the uncle of the child Mohammed says that many of the people have lost their lives so far by the explosion of mines left behind by IS mercenaries. Mustafa has stressed that the Red Crescent provided the necessary medical assistance, but their capabilities and medical devices are not enough to deal with serious cases. More than 100 injuries so far More than 100 persons of Afrin canton ‘s people have been injuried most of them children and women according to statistics of Avrin and Kurdish Red Crescent hospitals but their capabilities and medical devices are not enough to deal with serious cases. Causing the death large of numbers Hawar news agency held an interview with the co-chair of Kurdish Red Crescent Akram Abd said ” the people of Afrin who are residing in al-Shahab canton, they are still continuing their resistence in land planted by thousands of IS’ mines. According to Dr. Akram Abdul said the Red Crescent received 51 cases of mine explosion since the arrival of Afrin people to the area , including them20 children, 20 women and 11 men, in addition to, more than 50 cases have been taken to the hospital to exceed the number of 100 cases. Akram Abd pointed out that they are unable to deal with many cases because of the limited availability of medicines and medical equipment, especially with the continued imposition of the siege and impassable of roads.
