A resident, not identified by police, walked into the Wayne Police Department at 9 a.m. to inquire about the disposal of a Japanese-style World War II hand grenade he said he found while cleaning his home over the weekend, according to a news release issued by Wayne Police. The man told police he had brought the grenade and left it in his car trunk in the parking lot, according to police reports.
