Natagpuan ng isang backhoe operator ang dalawang lumang bala ng mortar habang nagbubuhos ito ng lupa sa may National Museum Complex sa Ermita, Maynila Lunes ng gabi. Nadiskubre dito ang isang Projectile, 75mm High-Explosive at isang cartridge, 27mm anti-aircraft na ginamit pa noong World War II. Hindi naman daw ito kaagad sasabog kung hindi mapupuntirya ng matigas na bagay kaya masuwerte na hindi ito tinamaan ng backhoe. Nito lamang June 17, narekober din ang dalawang 81mm illumination mortar bomb sa National Museum. Ginagamit ito kapag madilim ang lugar dahil nag-iilaw ito habang nasa ere. Tinuturing pa rin ang mga ito na mapanganib kahit ilang dekada na ang lumipas kaya paalala ng mga awtoridad, ipaalam sa pinakamalapit na istasyon ng pulis o sundalo kung may makitang mga mortar o unexploded ordnance para maiwasan ang anumang pinsala.
