大阪府吹田市南吹田３のマンション建設現場で不発弾（米国製１トン爆弾）が見つかり、市は６日、陸上自衛隊の不発弾処理隊による信管除去作業を７月２４日正午に始めると発表した。処理は同日夕方までに終わる予定。作業に伴い、現場から半径約３００メートル以内を警戒区域として立ち入り禁止にし、対象となる約９５０世帯の住民計約２０００人に避難してもらう。現場近くを通るＪＲ東海道線とおおさか東線も警戒区域は運休。区間や時間帯はＪＲ西日本が検討している。市によると、不発弾は４月２７日に工事関係者が土中から見つけ、府警に通報した。長さ１・８メートル、直径６０センチで、太平洋戦争中に米軍機が投下したものとみられる。発見後、陸自が信管に保護キャップをかぶせるなどの処置をし、現場付近を立ち入り禁止にしている。
警察は「不発弾を見つけたら近づかず連絡してほしい」と話しています。
