The army has carried out a controlled explosion after the discovery of a suspicious device in woodland. The army’s explosive ordnance disposal unit (EOD) were called after Gwent Police received a report of a suspicious item found in Craig-Y-Felin Woods, Cwmbran, at about 1pm on Monday.

If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
