공주경찰서는 이날 “하천 터파기 공사를 하다가 포탄이 발견됐다”는 내용의 신고를 접수해 육군 소속 폭발물처리반(EOD) 등에 공조 요청을 해 현장을 통제했다. 현장에서는 직경 105㎜ 크기의 고폭탄과 연막탄 등 포탄 두 발이 발견됐다.
