Al jarenlang droomde de 10-jarige Evans Mols uit Oisterwijk van een metaaldetector. Tijdens zijn tweede keer zoeken deed hij meteen een levensgevaarlijke ontdekking. Hij vond een granaat en een landmijn in de bossen bij zijn dorp. “Het zag eruit als een cupcake met een dopje erbovenop.”

A story started badly and news was made worse: the source explains that for years a 10-year-old boy wanted a metal detector! For years a 10 year old? Oh well let’s forget it and go back to the story: Evans Mols from Oisterwijk (the boy) this Christmas receives a metal detector as a gift and uses it in a field located in the Municipality of Schoorl but, according to the source, the boy finds only nails and a cap and returns home disappointed. I ask the reporter, Arthur (the parent), disappointed with what? What do he want to find? On the 25th Arthur and his son decide to go to a camp located in Oisterwijk. Evans takes a few steps, the instrument emits the first signal and perhaps the parent starts digging and finds an artillery grenade. He does not alert the police, but allows his son to continue the search despite the presence of the first remnant of the war. Una vicenda nata male e una notizia costruita peggio: la fonte spiega che per anni un bambino di 10 anni avrebbe desiderato un metal detector! Per anni un bambino di 10 anni? Vabbè lasciamo perdere e torniamo alla vicenda: Evans Mols di Oisterwijk (il ragazzino) questo Natale riceve in regalo un metal detector e lo usa in un campo situato nel Comune di Schoorl, ma a dire della fonte il ragazzino trova solo chiodi e un berretto e torna a casa deluso. Mi chiedo, domando al cronista, ad Arthur (il genitore), deluso di che? Cosa avrebbe voluto trovare? Il giorno 25 Arthur e figlio decidono di avviarsi in un campo situato a Oisterwijk. Evans compie pochi passi, lo strumento emette il primo segnale e forse il genitore inizia a scavare e trova una granata d’artiglieria. Non allerta la Polizia, ma permette al figlio di continuare la ricerca nonostante la presenza del prima residuato bellico. Altri passi, nuova segnalazione strumentale e nuovo scavo e in questo caso padre e figlio trovano una mina. Sicuramente questa uscita non ha deluso nessuno, tranne ragione e buon senso.

Als het nodig is, schakelt de politie de EOD in. Die opruimingsdienst neemt dan verdere veiligheidsmaatregelen, bijvoorbeeld een ontruiming van het gebied.
