Five properties were evacuated after police were called to the discovery of an “unexploded grenade” in Saltburn. A cordon was set up around Marske Road after officers were notified of the reported find by a member of the public. Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers were sent to the scene as a road diversion was put in place up to Wilton Bank, near the Co-op garage.
If you find anything that appears to be an explosive device, do not touch it, leave it where it is and call the police. We will contact the appropriate agencies to properly dispose of the item.
