Kerrier. By Stephen Pitts. Bomb disposal experts were called into action after an old hand grenade was discovered at an address in Helston on Monday evening. Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team said that specialists from Bomb Disposal Plymouth were called out after the grenade was unearthed. The weapon was made safe by a controlled detonation and public safety was restored. The roads policing team said in a tweet: “An unearthed old hand grenade led Bomb Disposal Plymouth to attend an address in the #Helston area today. A controlled detonation took place nearby ensuring public safety was restored. Thanks to @FalmouthPolice for their assistance and patience.”
